Sonia Coleman

Accredited Clinical Pilates Instructor

BPhysio.

Sonia qualified with a bachelor of physiotherapy at Latrobe University, Melbourne in 1997 and has worked as a clinician for over 20 years. In 2001 Sonia moved to the UK where she established her own private practice built on a motto of uncompromising excellence in her commitment to patient care and innovation.

Sonia now resides in Australia but continues to work closely with her team in the UK overseeing the management of a clinical study she set up in 2014, in partnership with NHS England. The programmes have achieved excellent results in helping patients with moderate to severe arthritis significantly improve their pain and function and in many cases, avoid the need for joint replacement surgery.

Along with her special interest in the treatment and management of patients with long term low back pain and end stage hip and knee osteoarthritis, the focus of Sonia's remedial work lies in her interest in global movement and postural dysfunctions and the role central core activation and implicit motor memory plays in preventative care, enhancing sporting performance and the management of chronic pain states. She feels passionate about the importance of engaging her patients actively in their care through exercise and self-management strategies and delivers this through the use of specialist Pilate's equipment that is available onsite in our state of the art studio.
